Hi TLDR. Sorry.. so I also have this issue. I have creaking noise only if I release my clutch. What could be the issue? Hope it is not TOB.

You'd have to take it to the dealer for them to inspect and see. Take it ASAP. I dismissed it as just a spring lubrication issue or something and didn't take it sooner (than 52000 miles). Now my dealer is stating it is "simply lubrication issue" (not even bothering inspecting it before stating that), and giving me a $500 bill just to lubricate it because they have to lower the whole transmission (BS). Their words: it is a wear and tear maintenance issue, your cost.

He said that it appears that nothing in there was lubed when assembled. I am no mechanic and thinking out loud and I'm wondering if the service manual calls for lubing the pivot and if not, could that possibly be a reason that so many TOBs are going bad? Maybe if the pivot point is binding then it's putting an undesirable force on the bearing causing it to fail prematurely.

The best part is that he charged me $46 and change for the service. The dealer would probably charge me more just to unlock the car and smell the tree hanging from my mirror.
I'm glad it can be done without taking the transmission apart. And the manual doesn't say jack sh¡t about lubricating that piece.

TOB usually shows symptoms when the clutch is pushed IN, not OUT. So this is probably just a lubrication issue, as noted above.

Absolutely not bs. That is the fix but it is not a "maintenance issue." I would dispute that. Go back and read my previous posts in this thread.

Did you bother to read the post immediately after the post you quoted? The service manual calls for lubing that pivot.

Mine squeaked/crunched about a year ago, and gets worse when warm. Dealer serviced it,found nothing. Took it again a few months later, same problem and they lubed something in the pedal assembly and the problem went away. Now the problem has returned, and the dealer ordered these parts in the clutch pedal assembly to remedy the issue, all free under the 36k warranty.
-Su003-00974-Assist Rod B
-Su003-00979- Spring Assist 3
-Su003-00968- Bushing
-Su003-00973- Assist rod
-Su003-00969- Bushing A
-Su003-02937- Pin
-Su003-00058- Clip

I will post back to see whether it fixed it, although it is cold here now and the problem mysteriously went away again since it seems heat dependent.

Anybody got a parts diagram for those components?

Finally something that sounds like my problem! It does seem to start once the car warms a bit. Did yours start early? Mine started before the car even hit 1000 miles. Plus it's just the pedal not in the transmission like others are saying in this thread.

That's the assist spring assembly. Won't help.

No mine started at around 13,000 miles.

Actually it did seem to help and the problem is gone. They replaced the spring and some of the pedal assembly and the squeaky crunch is gone, although it is getting cold here and the pedal squeaks/crunches when it is warmer and after driving a bit. The new spring was also pretty lubed up I noticed. I really was surprised they replaced all of this for free, parts included, since I was at 36k miles with an aftermarket clutch/turbo but I showed them that I had the issue before the aftermarket clutch and turbo was installed and the car was stock, so it was not a cause of a new clutch or throw out bearing.

Run to a dealer and get them to replace or lube the clutch spring and assist rod and bushing under warranty and it should fix it!
