I think Techstream will show you the software revision.

I might look into doing the cluster then. Any problems with odometer mismatch between the ECU and the cluster?

No problems but the cluster stores the odometer readings. My car is a 2013 limited mt smart key.

Oh itís only Stored in the cluster? Iím used to cluster swaps being a nightmare on bmws because they have to get coded to each other cause they both record it and then cross reference.

It would be nice if we could flash module updates. My abs software revision is 27522CA050.

I still think its all in the VSC control module. It seems to be a Bosch 9.0 ESP.

DTC C1234 Yaw rate sensor error DTC C1419 G sensor error DTC C1472 Lateral G sensor error DTC C1474 Longitudinal G sensor error Description of functions If there is a malfunction in the yaw rate sensor which is integrated into the skid control computer (brake actuator ASSY), the skid control computer (brake actuator ASSY) outputs a diagnostic code and prohibits VSC operation for fail safe.
Inspection steps CAUTION: When the skid control computer (brake actuator ASSY) has been replaced, make sure to perform VSC centering. See: Antilock Brakes / Traction Control Systems > Programming and Relearning
Work support 1. Centering of VSC sensor CAUTION: ^ When the skid control computer (brake actuator ASSY) has been replaced, make sure to perform VSC centering. ^ Make sure to perform VSC centering on a level surface (grade of 1% or less). While centering, do not shake the vehicle or open/close a door. NOTE: When centering VSC sensor, make sure to set zero point of yaw rate sensor & G sensor (brake actuator ASSY is integrated) and steering sensor. (1) Turn IG OFF. (2) Shift into neutral and apply the parking brake. (3) Connect SSM3 to DLC3. (4) Turn IG ON. (5) Set the steering wheel in a straight position. (6) On the SSM3 screen, select [ABS/VDC System]->[Work Support]->[VSC centering mode]. (7) Following the SSM3 screen, perform centering of the VSC sensor. 2. Changing modes ^ When it is necessary to temporarily stop the control while operating the vehicle on a device such as free rollers, enter into the check mode. While in the check mode, DTCs listed in the list may be stored. ^ If any DTCs are stored, clear the DTCs using SSM3. After turning IG OFF -> ON, the conditions are normal if speed sensor related DTCs are not stored.

2017 abs module on 16 down

I think track mode might have more to do with how much throttle gets cut vs how much brake modulating gets done. The VSC module canít decide how much power to cut. It can only report wheel slip over CAN. Throttle modulation is probably done by the ecu somehow.

Iím still puzzled over the difference in VSC sport button behaviors. I canít get hill start to work either. Both our cars are 2013 limited, both with 2017/2018 abs modules, only difference is the cluster. Iíll do the cluster swap to see if that changes the button behavior and the hill start. Iíve always wanted oil temp on the dash anyway. @solidsnake11, do you still have the 2013 traction control buttons?

Yes, they are the 2013 buttons. From what I can tell they are just regular momentary switches. They are not like the cluster switches which change resistance to use one wire for multiple switches.

I cleared my abs codes before I got hill assist to work but I wasn't using the emergency brake before when I was trying to get hill assist activate.

Okay so itís not the buttons. You already said you only have the ABS module and the Cluster, but I wanted to confirm that.

I never got any abs codes in the first place, probably because i repinned the connector before connecting the module the first time. I tried activating hill start again but my guess is that the cluster actually plays a bigger part than just showing the light. Maybe there are certain CAN signals missing or not passed on when you use the old cluster. Iíll come back with an update after sourcing a 2017 cluster.

You probably do have a abs code in memory since you said the light was on for a little while. If it effects anything I have no idea. In techstream it seems every module has its own storage for its own codes.

I only have the 18 abs module and 17 limited cluster.

Hi,

I've installed a 2017 ABS module from 27536CA030 to 13MY Toyota 86. Now the VSC sport switch should be pressed over 1 second to lit the VSC sport indicator of the cluster. Wow!

Thanks.

Yoshoobaroo what date is on your abs module? In makinen's picture you can see what looks to be a date 17-5-22 and 17-7-25.
