Eons ago when I volunteered in tech inspection at local level, I would flag obvious mis-classing of cars, even the casual participants.

You come out and check in with folks in class and don't try to hide it? I'm not going to make a deal out of it, and most of the locals I run with won't either. We're all slow, relative to nationals pace... but it's a close group usually, and a ton of fun.

You come out and try to hide it, or lay out lame excuses like you are here if someone asks? I don't care if you're fast or slow, it's not sportsman-like behavior. Someone being a narc shouldn't even be a problem, because you should be the one making the noise about your own non-compliance.

Yeah you're definitely coming off as the snowflake based on these posts.

Most people are pretty laid back about the rules, even nationally. Got some broken interior piece or lose a fender liner because you recently hit a badger or maybe even something like SPC arms or maybe they are temporarily without a cat or something and most won't care.

Things like E85 and wider wheels aren't going to fly, imo.

Relationships and respect of our peers are some of the big goals/gains from the sport for most of us, so it is pretty crappy to try to slip something by people that are trusting you. I mean, we are in a sport where probably 95-99% will happily give you the recipe to beat them. I wouldn't necessarily protest anyone for E85, especially if they aren't beating anyone, but I'd be pretty bummed if someone in my class purposefully did that.

My guess is that will never happen unless it is available at most gas stations across all of US.

Filled with Pro Parts magic. They are well reviewed by trusted sources.

Then the same should be said for 93, right? :P I can count on both hands how many times I have seen a pump w/ 93 octane.

At least around here, E85 seems to be going in the opposite direction. A few years back, there were several stations within a mile or 2 of me. Every single one dropped the E85 pump in recent years. I was weighing a 2.0 Camaro ESP build against an STX build and one of the reasons I dropped the Camaro idea is how hard it is to get E85 around here.

The thing about 93 is that you probably use 91 in your area. You just about can't buy 91 east of the Mississippi.

And I can't get anything lower till we're looking at 89, which is below design parameters. That's a harder sell compared to e85.

I'd guess if the current crop starts being outclassed by flex fuel cars, it'll be allowed. As long as some cars (like the twins) benefit in ways many other cars can't... Probably not happening.

Anybody have remote reservoirs in their trunk AND haul tires/jack/tools back there?

Curious what you do to protect them.
