The different is STI AWD is Rear wheels based, and EVO is Front wheel based. But all of their set up, with the right skills, and control, all the torque can easily be applied on both the rear wheels.

For one example, Down shift to the Torque Range, pull the E brake, Heel and toe the shack out of it around the corner....adjust your gas pedal for Torque feels to continue drifting that corner or loosen up to gain friction and straight up, then ready to All wheel Accel out. The hardest thing for you to do = heel and toes.....and it doesn't only happen on AWD...it happens in RWD too.

So, I don't really get what you mean by Effortlessly drifting. Beside that, tires do play a lot of important rolls here. But one thing is for sure, the AWD, you can customize your car easier. They do drive different (as in Regain the Traction, the AWD gain back the Traction almost too quick to do any mistakes, while the RWD can keep on going) I agree with AWD-RWD drive different, but Drift ? only FWD does not drift effortlessly

No argue with STI and Evo, but new WRX lacks real LSD. You will have a hard time doing that. I never say STI and Evo can't do the drifting.

Now, on a more realistic modes of the Supra, you can dream it around C7 performance, and price. Which is around 350-400 HP 3000+ lbs, and 60-70k price tag.

I know people cry that the C7 is cheaper, well....It is a Chevy, can never compare to a Toyota in reliability and maintenance expenses
Corvette engine has always been rock solid. I don't know where you get the Corvette Engine is the same as cheaply made engines in the same lineup. Anything under 380hp at over 55K, those Supra will just sit on the lot with heavy discount price or they won't move at all like a decade ago. People are still badge snobs, Most of them will take Germans over a Toyota any day. Toyota needs to play price war.

All the newer cars these days essentially have limited slip built into the traction control, which can certainly be set up to act like any kind of LSD you want in theory, depending on what they do at the factory. In an AWD car what does "LSD" refer to when you have 3 diffs?

I agreed and disagreed with you. should it be affordable? yes but everyone's meaning is different. I don't think a new Supra should have a starting price beyond $60k.

Badge is not an issue. people are paying $70k-$100k for the Nissan GTR. the Germans don't really offer anything like the C7 and FT1 for under $60k. Than what about the M3/M4, RS5 and so on? Those are luxury coupes with lots of power. its like comparing apples to oranges to me.

I think a base model will need to have at least 400hp and priced at $50k. a higher level model can have 460hp-500hp and have a starting price tag of $60k. More than the C7? Yes but still cheaper than the R35 (and most likely the upcoming R36 and NSX).

Also for the 1st few years the MK4 Supra had pretty decent sales. after 96 sales started to take a hit but there was more to it. The 6 speed was not offered in 96. than you had the rising yen. the 97-98 came with a cheaper interior. not to mention GM just lauched the C5 at that time.

Not even trying to put M3/M4 on the same league as Supra. A Porsche is what I'm talking about.

you should look up their power and pricing.

the cayman has 275hp and starts at $52,600.

the cayman s has 325hp and cost $63,800.

And still more desirable than C7 at 450hp and 52K.

That's what I think as well, but for people who really can afford one of those cars as a second car, they are likely to pick a Porsche. I've seen 911 Carrera S more than C7 around my area.

I already said it was more than C7. but guess what? Import sports cars generally cost more than their American counterpart. There is nothing new about that.

Germans cost more, isn't that what I've been saying? They are still more desirable because of prestigious and brand perception. What does Toyota have to bring to the table with the new Supra to make it more appealing to wider crowd? Or is it going to fail in sales like the last one?

The Supra has a huge fan base. probably bigger than the cayman...

Toyota is going to bring style, power, and vaule just like old Supra. Mk4 Supra was faster than cars twice its price.

C7 out sales those cayman and boxter big time. Not everyone wants a German car. Parts and labor on these things are crazy. I should know I own two BMWs. You talk like everyone is rushing out and buying a German car lol.

again the old supra started out with decent sales. You must not remember the 90s. There was a lot more to it than that.

more desirable? Are you for real? German cars have one of the worst resale out there. also sales of the cayman are pretty low...
