I heard broken belts are a very common flaw to the kraftworks system. If you knew about the problem why didn't you go with a different system to begin with?

Spend a little bit more money and could got a jackson racing. Very similar supercharger to the kraftwerks.

Because dealing with overboost, surge, leaks and creating several other possible failure points is such a good trade-off

Each system has it's benefits and it's downsides. From what I have seen so far the KW kit is perfectly fine, most people just cannot adjust the belt at the proper tension or are too lazy to check it periodically to ensure it doesn't require to be re-tightened.

By very similar you mean the exact same charger with a different drive design.

Well kraftwerks is sending me a new belt. i am also going to make sure to get the belt tensioned correctly and not too tight and maybe use that belt tension frequency check app.

interesting comments about trading it in for the jackson racing supercharger. maybe i should of went with that, but oh well. i think it would too much of a hassle to find someone willing to buy my kraftwerks and for me to get the jackson racing at this point. that would just be more money and time and a huge hassle.

ill just hope and pray i dont have anymore belt problems with kraftwerks. and if i still have problems then maybe i will seriously consider getting the jackson racing one.

because i was able to find a distributor with the kraftwerks system in stock and i didnt want to wait 2 months for jackson racing to build their system for me. so i just went with that instead. i knew all along about the potential risks with the belt beforehand. the jackson racing was my first choice. and i just gambled and took the risk and lost.

i only hope when i get the new belt and after its tensioned correctly, i wont continue having these problem, or else i may seriously consider getting the jackson system at some point.

Want my tip? Buy another 2 belts that way if ever you do snap another you are not stuck waiting on a belt to enjoy your car.

Yep, better throw the whole kit away and get something else. And if you install a borla header your engine will explode too. God forbid you've got parts on it made by someone who's last name starts with a V.

re: belt noise

OK so i got the belt replaced, and had it installed and tensioned properly..
at least i thought.

It worked fine for several days. it was smooth and wasnt loud.

now the belt is extremely loud and noisy and violently shakes the entire car. it's almost embarrassing. It's very loud and shakes when idling. i almost cannot wait to rev the engine so the exhaust noise overpowers it.

attached is a video.

does anyone know what the problem is now?

does the belt need to be tensioned again? or what is the cause of this? it doesn't sound right, or feel right, and this can't be normal.

The belts is moving way too much. Loosen the belt and take it off @ the crank and check your pulley and idlers and make sure they are not loose. Did you get the gates carbon drive app? That thing works really well. I wouldn't run it until you figure out what is loose. You can damage the supercharger.
