Has anyone run the new V2 sandwich plate with a Grimmspeed intake? Trying to get 100% confirmation it clears.

Are there any good installation videos? I have a 2019 manual transmission 86 and I've never installed anything like an oil cooler before, let alone take the front bumper off a car before.

Also does Jackson offer a warranty for the cooler if it fails and causes further engine damage?

Have had this cooler/radiator in my car for about 6 months. So far no issues whatsoever. The oil temp sits at a comfy 90 degrees celsius and goes slightly higher (just above 90) when I punch it on the mountain fun!

Totally recommend it. Next is getting a supercharger from these guys!

Is there anything that needs to be specifically done for oil changes since there's gonna be some oil left in the radiator?

The manual said to change oil and filter every 3000 miles instead of the usual 5000 miles too.

Nope, carry on as usual.

While the system capacity is larger, the amount you fill and drain doesn't change.

Q: Do I need to add more engine oil with the oil cooler kit?
A: Yes, an additional quart of engine oil is required when installing the Jackson Racing Engine Oil Cooler Kit.

Does this mean I need to put 6.8 Quarts instead of OEM 5.8 Quarts?

After an oil cooler install, put 6 quarts or so of oil, idle the car for 30 seconds, turn the car off, wait a minute or two, and check the oil level. If more oil is needed, repeat the procedure above except add 1/2 quart of oil. Once you are at the correct level, go for a short drive, check the oil level and top off if needed.

For future oil changes, you will not be able to drain the oil from the oil cooler or oil cooler lines, and the car will usually take about 6 quarts of oil.

Should I change my oil change interval from 5000 miles to 3000 miles?

Ryan GT86: i'd shorten or not oil change intervals more in relation if car is tracked or not, not so much if it has or hasn't oil cooler/larger capacity.

That depends on your driving habits. I recommend using used oil analysis to determine your intervals.

You want to always have something guarding your oil cooler, whether its a grill, or mesh, or honeycomb.
How does one accomplish that without impeding airflow? I picked up a Perrin that admittedly may not be as good as JR, but the price was irresistible and I think it'll do for my stock engine. Tech folks at Setrab tell me their's is designed to withstand small impacts without leaking. But what about the big stuff?. Maybe chicken wire attached to the grill? I have a motorcycle oil cooler shield that would be quite restrictive but if I mounted it several inches in front of the cover I would think air would get around it but not rocks. I don't know for sure.
Big rocks are a valid concern. I've had to replace three windshields over the years.

The OEM plastic grill is enough to keep out the really big stuff.

My recommendation of a Jackson Racing oil cooler being the bare minimum for a car driven hard is based on a stock engine. Modified engines may need **more** cooling.

Well, then I guess I should reconsider. The Perribn is still new in the box.

Since you consider this oil cooler to be bare minimum for track driving, would that mean that the JR dual cooler is better suited to canyon/autocross driving? I seem to remember reading that the dual cooler didn't lower temps quite as much.

Thanks!
