@Pure Automotive - is there a reason why you guys couldn't center the intercooler? That would drive me nuts lol. Top notch on everything though, super super clean. I need to do this or an LS swap lol.

The drivers side end tank has a 3" outlet on the top with a single 90 that goes direct into the throttle body. So that side had to be able to align with the throttle body. Pass side has 2 small bends and it's straight into the turbo. Mostly alignment to get the most intercooler core, with minimal bends/couplers. If it was centered the drivers side would have had to go around and under the headlight then up to a 90 into the tb. Would have been a ton of bends/welding/couplers. Basically a compromise between shortest/straightest piping and being centered

It irks my OCD so much but it's all about function in this case, at least the BOV is there to help little lol

I figured it was done for a reason, but just had to ask Guess it doesn't matter when you pop open the hood and have a 2JZ in there

I think that the reason that most swaps never get finished is that by the time they are close to done, the builder has learned enough to know that he should have done it differently. The vision and the execution are not lining up.

It is also a fact that the last 10% of a project takes an exponentially growing amount of the resources (time and $$$) so if the enthusiasm/love has left the building, the reality of what still needs to be done becomes overwhelming and the project gets abandoned or sold off.

The question then becomes "What to do with the lessons I have learned"? Do you make a note to never do something this crazy again, or do you launch into the next project and profit from the lessons. I think I know what this particular builder is doing

This shit is hard work and the fact that some people make it look easy leads a lot of others into the quagmire.

You can look at the start date of this thread and figure out how not easy it is for me, haha. You are 100 % right though, this whole ordeal has spiraled out of control and all I can do now is ride the wave until it's finally done. I've learned enough from doing this to know that any customers who want us to do it are going to get a long talk before the process begins.

Lightly put, but that's the truth.

Anyone looking to do a proper swap needs to realize that you'd be able to buy a decent MKIV Supra on top of your stock FRS/BRZ after all the receipts are accounted for.

Finally have the car back together with everything painted. We only have 1 step left hopefully, that's tuning. I'll try to get some idle videos next week, then dyno videos after that.
Here's a couple I snapped after we did some clear coating and painting today.
