Well advantage of using a carpet cleaner is it will go below the fabric and wet underneath it and suck it up and possibly remove some of it from the foam under the seat. Alcantara is microfiber that is encapsulated in polyester resin. It shouldn't get damaged but I wouldn't take a chance
