Are you running OEM rear rotors? Did you notice any F/R imbalance from running different rotors front vs rear?

Also you've mentioned it's very easy to swap pads — can you point me at some videos or perhaps even manuals on how to do that on PP Brembos?

Yep, it is that simple, it takes me more time to jack the car up, take the wheels off, and reverse the process than to change the pads.

F/R imbalance does not depend on rotor choice but on brake pad compound so you can run one brand of rotors in front, another in rear.

Got a job offer I could not refuse and moved to the Atlanta area a couple months ago. It feels good to be back in my American hometown after 10 years in Texas.

Drove the BRZ 835 miles on 5/23, changed the oil on 5/24, and ran Road Atlanta with Chin Track Days on 5/25-5/26.

The road course is great, it was super hot so I only did three sessions on Saturday and the second session on Sunday one of the oil cooler lines rubbed on the frame and developed a leak. I had been running this setup for 1.5 years and have no idea whether the hole developed over time or the line shifted during my trip. Whatever the case may be, this is installer error.

Got the car towed back home and took the whole front apart to clean the oil that went everywhere. What a mess. Called TopSpeed Motorsports and they recommended Controlled Motors for a new engine build so this is who I went with.

The car was at Controlled Motors from 6/4 to 7/27. Picked her up today with 150 miles on the new engine and a fresh change of the Motul break in engine oil. I am to drive the car for another 300 miles with lots of engine braking and change the oil. Then do another 500 miles and finally change to synthetic.

While the engine was out, I asked for a Killer B oil pickup and a new clutch. Randy at Clutch Specialty did a dual friction compound clutch that is better suited for road racing but still streetable. Everything else is OEM.

Hit 300 miles and drained the oil. The drain plug is clean as a whistle and the car feels great!

The new break in oil arrives Thursday, this gives me time to go over every nut and bolt, install a brand new RacerX oil cooler, and put the front end back together.

For the last three days I have been driving up and down 120 from Johnson Ferry to Roswell without the front bumper and saw a few twins around these parts.

Last round of break in oil and the next fill is back to the Motul 300V. A brand new RacerX oil cooler is installed, this time the oil lines away from any metal edges.

Break in period completed, back to Motul 300V! Also, the right front bearings started making noise so I replaced the hub.

Got the car tuned at DBW Motorsports. Doug did a great job including replacing the flex fuel sensor that for whatever reason failed. The car dynoed a few hp/tq less than what Doug usually sees and he thinks this is due to the OEM front pipe. I have a 2.5" JDL ultra quiet on order and will re-dyno once I receive it.

Sent a sample of the last fill of break-in oil to Blackstone and everything looks good so far. The car survived a full hpde weekend at Road Atlanta in scorching heat which makes me hopeful that the engine will live on.

Got a JDL ultra quiet front pipe installed. The fitment is great. I will dyno the car again to see how much restriction the OEM front pipe was.

The stock cat was already breaking down.

The engine survived another hpde weekend at Road Atlanta. A little bit over 2,000 miles now on the engine.

2 hpde weekends at Road Atlanta and 1 hdpe day at Atlanta Motorsports Park (1,453 miles total) so it is time for another oil change.

Also put another set of front brake pads right before going to AMP.

Another hpde weekend at Road Atlanta and another issue. After one of the sessions, I parked in the paddock and had trouble leaving the car in gear. After a couple hours with everything cooled down, I was able to shift into most gears, sometimes with some crunching, and was able to drive back home.

Just pulled the transmission and the TOB is shot. Will assess tomorrow if there is more damage.
