Well duh, it's not like he's more special than anyone else. As far as I can tell he just got off-the-shelf Clubsports.

The only 86 I've ever driven is my own and it's completely stock. Although obviously the KW's (and every other coilover) makes the car much more aesthetically pleasing by closing the vast expanse between tire and fender, the real reason that I swap out suspensions in my cars is for the performance benefit.

And if you read the article, it ends on a big down note: Aasbo basically says he hasn't driven the car with the new setup, so he can't comment on the performance. Bummer. The car looks better aesthetically, but big deal--there are lowered 86's all over the internet. I would like to hear what a professional driver says about a particular coilover (even if it's going to be very rose-colored because KW sponsors Speedhunters). And yes, I know there are plenty of suspension threads on this forum.

As a professional driver who competes in different series across the globe....yeah he's quite a bit more special than everybody else. Especially when KW was involved in one of the builds.

Chances are it's probably just an off the shelf product. Wouldn't be surprised though if the coilovers had custom valving or were matched with custom spring rates.

Just installed my KW Clubsports and absolutely love them. I set ride height at the highest recommended setting in the booklet and the fender gap is perfect for me. The car also handles like its on rails. It is also nearly as comfortable as stock on the road. Bumps like when you hit cat eyes or small curbs are a bit more harsh and you could feel the impact much more due to the solid top mounts. I had my alignment settings on 0 toe front and rear, -2.5 camber front and -2.6 rear (cant adjust it back because no stock adjuster so I am ordering adjustable lower arms). Here is a picture of how it sits.
