That's all I want to hear is that for those who have not bought yet, will have options. I don't want to pre-order one to find out the next month a more powerful one is offered that I may want to go with instead. I tend to keep cars for a long time, and that would eat at me.

All the non-sense in this thread is hilarious.

Nothing is official until it is in writing on manufacturer letterhead as far as a turbo coming and on the other side, nothing is officially "NEVER" coming until production ends. BMW said repeatedly that there would never be a Z3 (and X5) M model and sure enough it showed up. I don't care what any engineers, product development, or presidents say, they will just turn around and say that they didn't think there was a market for a turbo vehicle, but due to overwhelming consumer demand they were wrong and will be offering it. There is always an excuse to do a complete 180 on any previous statement.

It seems almost silly to me though to think that Subaru wouldn't rummage the parts bin to turn out a turbo/STI BRZ to compete with a 370z at a $35k price tag (and likely higher profit margin). A turbo, unique aero kit, some suspension tweaks and bigger brakes will justify a $6k price premium and place it on level ground with the Z.

I think it's funny that all these auto sites are claiming this 2.0 Turbo engine is for the BRZ when SOA has already stated (internally) that it is the new engine for the next generation WRX & STI.

Agreed, this is old news and one website posts a rumor about it going in the BRZ and everyone's going crazy. I want to see a turbo BRZ but I won't believe anything until it comes from a more reliable source.

Quote:
if(news_day.isSlow()) report(Turbo_BRZ);
You're setting yourself up for multiple if-statements, or cascading
if-statements with this method of determining if a news_day is 'slow'
or 'fast'. *Since news_day is an object, you should be able to query
it and receive its current status with a single call, like so:

Quote:
// returns an integer, which can be compared against static ints
news_day.getDaySpeed()
Also, why is the Turbo_BRZ an object iself? *It should be more
generic, so that you can pass an object around without having to name
it according to the news that it contains.

Based on all of the above changes, perhaps your code can be rewritten
as such (still a snippet of code). *I have written it sequentially,
instead of breaking things up into methods.

Quote:
/**
* Variable declarations
*
*
*/

// NewsDay is an object representing a news day
// Here we are instantiating the object for today's news
NewsDay news_day = new NewsDay( System.Today() )

// ReportAggregate is an object that holds Report objects in a List structure,
// and provides functions to change their priority/order/etc around based on the
// attributes within the Report
ReportAggregate newsList;

// ReportItem is an object within ReportAggregate's List
ReportItem newsItem;

// Reporter is an object that queries a newsfeed/database to get current news,
// and it can also set news
Reporter autoReporter = new Reporter()

// The URL where the news will be posted
URL postedURL = "http://www.ft86club.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=23"

/**
* Do stuff
*
*
*
*/
newsList = autoReporter.getNewsForURL( postedURL )

if ( !newsList.isEmpty() )
* *newsList.sortPriority( news_day.getDaySpeed() )
* *newsItem = newsList.pop() *// pops first item off the List
* *autoReporter.setNewsForURL( postedURL, newsItem )
end

*(I still don't consider it perfect, it can be refined even further
and simplified even more). For example, autoreporter might be doing too much (things should be broken down into simple, focused and well defined operations).

The only real way to design a proper reporting system is to draw it out on a board (or use object design language to properly define objects and their relationships).

Bah.

Part 1:

Part 2:

I watched all of both videos(thanks for posting them), but there is nothing in them concerning features, it's all about the center of gravity and lowering the hood, suspension bragging, etc., etc.

I stand by my original statement: the 2013 Accord offers significantly more features and creature comforts for every dollar spent. The videos did nothing to challenge my point.

Seriously? FEATURES? You DO know that the BRZ/GT-86/FR-S are basically ANTI-features, correct? That's pretty much the point of these cars. If you want features, go enjoy every other RWD coupe available, but pay for it by having them handle crappier, being heavier and bigger.

What kind of human being cross-shops an Accord and a BRZ/FR-S? Either you enjoy driving or you don't.
