It's all in good fun. I'd find any of it hilarious as long as it didn't cost much.

Don't get me wrong, gift giving is fun. I've just known too many people in the past that it seems to be about quantity, buying stuff that just makes it to the landfill later. I mean, does anyone really need a Chia Pet?

That's when I learned to NEVER give your wife ANY kind of present that plugs in.

I had it lucky for a while. While we were deep in in house reno and cottage building mode, my wife loved getting power tools as gifts. She now has her own cordless drill, router, and detail sander. Technically our brad nailers are hers - a gift from my brother. She even asked for a sawzall, which I got her for Christmas one year, but she’s agreed to use it only under supervision. That thing can be dangerous if you don’t have the upper body strength.

Having said all that, I still wouldn’t buy her a dust buster!

Previous owner of my house left me a big giant red shop vac. He said he used it to drain the hot tub. I haven't looked at it yet. Probably more junk to take to the dump.
