1-2 degrees in oil temp drop, my headers and down pipe are sort of cool enough to touch after a drive. Which is why I'm wondering whether it's even heat soak anymore.

Even without boosting my oil temps are like this ^, what other things can cause it to run that hot?

Yeah im having a similar problem-ish my oil temps shoot up while highway driving over 3k rpms which is about 70-80mph, it usually hovers around 190-210f while local driving but anything at highway speeds for more than like 15 minutes its up closer to 270FName: 20190629_094004.jpg

My godfather - how hard are you driving/revving it ? Thems high temps, I'd be very cautious when temps get to 250 & beyond. Those temps are not normal.

If your temps are simply at idle then there's not much you can really do to lower the temperature except maybe a thinner oil which will promote flow and therefore increased heat exchange, or maybe a heavier duty radiator, but I'm uncertain if that will actually affect idle oil temps. 109c oil and below you're probably fine, and the oil pressures only become an issue above 6000 RPM, at least on 0w20. Below that and the pressures are fairly solid even at higher temps. Once you're moving your temperatures fall to more safe temps, yeah? That would mean the oil cooler is doing its job, but I was under the impression initially that this was at speed.

This is the kit at the moment (13 row): https://www.maperformance.com/produc...frs-subaru-brz

I actually do have verus hood vents, and my engine bay temp seems very cool now with the coated pipes, I can touch them.
I can't speak to a specific unit but I would possibly take a look at other mocal units.

I hear Penrite 10 Tenths is a great oil for heat recovery
Heavier oil has more thermal capacity.

Can you ask your tuner have your fans come on sooner via the tune? My tuner did this with my tune and it helped with traffic and low speed driving. This is with my supercharger running e85

I have two sources, the stock ECU plug which I can read through obd2 (this one reads the lower value).

And a prosport gauge with the sensor on a TRD sandwich plate below the oil cooler.

To be honest when moving they fluctuate, if I boost and floor it, then they drop.

Tuner said this wasn't necessary and would keep the fans on way too much.
