if it is like the tC you can easily turn the gauge sweep on or off by doing contra code like inputs with the ignition and pressing a button (like the trip/mileage counter)

it is just a matter of figuring out what the sequence is.

Part of the difference in sound is probably due to the different recording devices used.

exactly... its with the mileage knob thingy... i used to know how to do it but forgot... so ill bet you can turn it on for the fr-s
