The looks are very generic and uninspiring, although it looks a lot better in person. But yeah they should have focused on promoting the in-gear times rather than the usual 0-60 etc, to highlight the benefits of the hybrid drivetrain. I think hybrids are also pretty much impossible to tune/upgrade.

What they really should have focused on was a halo car that people that buy the top end of Acura could afford, following the GM model with the Corvette.

Had the NSX (modified to meet the price point) cost close to the Corvette price I would have been very tempted because I've always liked the NSX for a lot of the same reasons I like the Corvette (semi-exotic, great performance, can be daily driven without worries).

In the end, Honda didn't really want to be in the sports car business, so they followed the Ford model instead. Create a top of the line car just so they show they can, but not really want to make enough of them to make it a sustainable product line.

Very well stated, and based on the evidence, 100% true.

To note, I would be in the same situation if I wanted a NSX.

In general, sure. But's it's overweight and only has 2 pedals. 2 reasons I'd never consider one even if they ever did depreciate into my price range.
