I shorted the door light, now she won't start

Oh boy,

I made the mistake of shorting the driver door courtesy light on my 2013 BRZ. Used a metal tool to pull the bulb with the battery connected. Oops. Now when I try to start the engine, it just goes into accessory mode without the engine turning over at all (freshly charged battery). I was also moving the steering wheel to access the flood lights. I thought it might be a steering lock issue, but perhaps I blew the BIU. Would that result in a 'no start'? Everything else seems to be working. I continuity checked all the fuses in the black box under the hood, and all the mini fuses next to the steering wheel.

Anyone else experience this? Going to be an expensive tow and fix at the dealer I think.

Disconnect the battery for like 20 min and try starting the car again.

I blew my door courtesy light the same way years ago and never had problems starting the car.

Maybe your battery coincidently took a crap overnight?

My car was starting fine last month until one morning it cranked like I had left the dome light on all night. Took it to a shop and it was barely holding 4 volts during a load test.

Check all the fuses and relays first.

There is a 7.5 amp fuse labeled "STOP". It will blow when you short a light. It will disable your car. I had it happen. (Couldn't find info on this forum... Ended up on the Scion TC forum, found the info).

I have continuity in all the mini fuses in the black fuse box under the hood and under the dash on the drivers side. Am I missing any fuse locations?

So you can get power when on acc mode but do you hear the fuel pump whine when the ignition is turned on?

Or maybe clutch pedal switch?

Auto or Manual, The manual has a clutch switch under the clutch petal that has to be depressed in order to start the car. Does this have electricity flow? It might be a short up that line making the car think you never pressed in the clutch.
