I would say 4-5 business days tops to get it done, but 2 weeks to be safe (just in case they're backed up).

Also, if there's one in-stock on the shelf they'll just send you that one and keep your core so it would be a couple days tops.

For the gears, I just like everything shifting properly. I'm a stickler for proper shifting and we're only talking $100 or so difference to get the full setup.

Can you or SSP do it in 1-2 days if I drive there and pay you labor?

Now everyone is talking about the up shift. How does it affect the downshift?

Yep! I can definitely have you do it directly at SSP. The only issue is, if it's a core situation they have to pull it out and redo the whole valvebody which can take a couple days by itself. The actually install is very quick (probably only a few hours in and out).

If anyone wants to do an install directly at SSP, that works. They're in MN which is a pretty chill place so you could have a little mini vacay or something

Good question! My bad actually, I never mentioned it

The downshifts aren't AS aggressive, they're a bit tighter but not like the upshifts.

The shifts are calculated by load so pedal position and amount of torque determine how hard the shifts are so redline will be all out, just cruising will be nice and tight.

They handle more painting and small installs, not really an all-out shop. The MN location is where manufacturing and more involved installs are done.

Jason@DSG, what fluid is used in the BRZ AT? I have researched this and found inconsistencies. Stock is ATF WS. A Dexron 6 type fluid. I can find Redline, Enoes, and Amsoil equivalents. When I go to the Motul site it lists both of there AT fluids as comparable.
I ask as no one has given me an answer. I called the Houston store and was told to use the MT fluid. The 75w90. By mistake I assume.
Can you answer this for me please.

would small installs include the torque converter and trans-cooler and exclude the valve body??

I was thinking of paying the big price (no core) however long they need before I drive up.... then when the core is ready I drive up, they install, keep my original parts as core, discount me for the core, I drive away.... another happy customer.

I gotta save up the coin first though.

I'm glad to hear this, so we can just cruise around at quarter throttle and shift below 3k and it will be relatively smooth? Firmer than stock, but not DCT hardcore?

I like firm shifts too, but since we DD and commute it's also nice to be able to sip coffee while driving...

and then crack our necks at the track!

So I just checked in with the Houston shop!

Good news, they're definitely equipped to do the install and as a bonus, they will give everyone a discount on the labor rate for us -- just say DSG referred you and you should get 20% off the labor rate

So anyone in the great Texas area and surrounding states, get 'er done at SSP Houston location and make sure to mention DSG to get your labor discount!

Motul ATF!! We and SSP have filled quite a few AT's with it already

It's load based so cruising will be tight, but not overkill. Redline and full load shifts actually shoot you forward, it's pretty crazy stuff man. you guys are going to really like it

Good man! I'll have it all arranged for you that the parts are there and labor rate is discounted when you're ready. Just hit me up a week or two before (to give SSP time to put everything together).

Cheers!
