That said I think scion is a young brand that isn't completely certain what it stands for yet, or how a brand should stand for that. It will figure itself out in time, and with the frs to carry it I suspect it will probably hurry along a bit.

I think the long term goal of scion is reliable cars for parents to buy for thir kids. Build the most reliable cars, then add a "cool" car so that the kids might actually be interested in the brand... Makes some sense when you think about it. Not every kid is a car guy or gal... A lot of them don't know why the frs is better other than looks. That's the target audience. The frs is a gift to us, and our driving the thing around is our gift to scion lol.

My quibble is more of an annoyance than a major gripe. I love my car and had the car been branded as a Toyota, I think the price would be more than the steal that we got the car for. I am happy that we were able to get the most important bits and pieces. The rest can be done through the aftermarket, but, they are certainly missing out on the financial opportunity with an accessory hungry customer base.

Agreed. Gone are the days when Camry and corolla were the brands you looked to for a reliable bargain beater. Hell, hyundais and Kia's aren't even that cheap anymore. If it were a toyota it would cost as much as the brz and not come with anything more in equipment.

Now Lexus has a legit sports car, and so does scion... I think the new Supra will say Toyota on the trunk. One for each.

My guess is probably production demands. If Toyota/Subaru already have a waiting list, the back log of supplied parts maybe an issue. The accessory demand for fog lights, may exceed the output of what the supplier can supply until overall demand of the car goes down.

They are pending approval from the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT).

They are trying to figure out how to add more chrome and glitter to the JDM lamps before releasing them to market.

Haha some of u guys make me laugh... Give it a bit of time the cars been out for what 7 months... It's the first year of the car too they have some kinks to work out with some of the oem stuff before adding accessories that will have some problems in the first little bit too... Believe it or not Toyota is still one of the best car manufactures hands down and with as picky as u people are why would they come out with loads of more new stuff when they are still fixing little things people keep bitching about.
Also I d k about scion being a bad brand... I'd say their only " failure " of a car so far has been the xa... I know we sold a lot of tc's xd's and xb's at the dealership I worked at...

If they needed development, I would understand. But it should be the same thing as the gt86 and the brz units. Both of those were available at launch. Plus the brz units should have already been through usdot. I really don't get the hold up. Kind of like the arm rest, it better be something special by the time it does arrive!

Yeah, exactly. Subaru did it right from the beginning. So why can't Scion?

I find mine pretty annoying to be honest, most likely i'll remove them and replace with brake ducts. Do you really need an extra set of lights on top of the DRLS and 'halos'?

People just want what they can't have and don't have or want to pay for the mark up.

Actually I want them to have a better chance of seeing road stripes in the rain, and to hopefully get two more lights deputized in the great deer hunt.
