The dash vent isn't the issue, the whole dash needs to come out to replace it. The car's under warranty, I don't see the point in messing around with stuff like this myself.

Bump

Mine is getting worse. It's only 70 degrees today and the dash is lifting up more and the dash is feeling softer like it's going to melt.

For those who used adhesives to fix the dash, how is it holding up?

Why anyone who cares about their car would NOT use a sunshade when parked in the sun is beyond me. Not just the damage to the dash but the amount of film deposition on the inside of the windshield.

Also, it makes SO much difference in the temp inside the car when you get into it too. I hate getting into a car that is 120 inside.

I put one in the side window on whichever side is facing the sun too.

Consider a BLACK dash-mat with D.I.Y. aluminium foil on the underside. Between the foil and dash have fabric to ensure no direct contact between foil and dash and create an air space.
A) it reduces reflection in the glass
B) the foil insulates sun heat from radiating into the dash rubber
c) it reduces the polymer fallout to the glass

The oe dash on my previous car was 100% after 17 years of Australian sun with this mod.

(You may need to experiment with a hole in the foil if it shields your satnav sensor)

Same issue. 2013 model FR-S with under 20,000 miles. Dash is coming unglued. I have till the May of next year to replace it. Holding off till this summer heat goes by. Toyota looked at it and immediately approved it.
