I vaguely remember it being discussed here before, but not sure who's asked.

I have a 4 camera wired system from Costco (I don't remember the brand, I think it's Panasonic? ) but it was a huge PITA to install: running wires up in the attic, drilling holes, playing Marco Polo with a helper on the other side of the wall, taping into power, etc. This all fed into a local hard drive that I have set up inside the house to cycle every 48 hrs. I've since augmented my system with a ring door bell and a couple of ring flood light cameras. I really like the ease of install (all just replaced existing door bell and lights) but I did have to upgrade my wifi to be able to reach em, but nice to have that upgraded anyway (wifi in the garage yay!). I like being able to check my cameras and answer the door with my phone. Only draw back for me is that the footage isn't continuous (only saves a minute or so when triggered) and is cloud based.

lol, that would be me. I asked about it before moving to Lathrop. However, never ended up with a system I was satisfied with that was wireless. I'll wait until the Arlo Pro 3 comes out, should they make ever make one.

Anyone replace their dash speakers with something else (other than OEM Audio+)? If so, did it make a big difference? Kinda sad how my Yaris sounds way better than my FR-S (not a real comparison since I replaced the HU and all speakers in the Yaris). When ever I drive the FR-S now, music just sounds muffled.

I have a bit more experience with Arlo Pro system now. My aunt lives next door and has it but when they were on an extended vacation I had access to the cameras. There is a delay in picking up movement so you have to be careful with placement. Like if you walk a normal pace you get to the front door before the video starts (I think its a 3 second delay) or can almost get passed the camera up the driveway. It also picks up animals so our cats trigger it all day long. Supposedly there is an update to help with that but not sure if they updated yet or not.

Basically if someone ran and just Sparta kicked your door in you may not catch them, but otherwise it should work. Battery life has been good too. I just wish the delay was a second shorter or it had another 5 feet of detection range

I don't have 50k to blow tho (I'm sure after tax, title, and CARB compliance, it'll come out to at least 50k).

Nice find, Laz. That looks like a relatively clean and unmolested example, with some tasteful mods. I bet it drives great!
