I am in The Colony(very north by frisco) but if its a really good shop I don't mind driving.

From what I hear proTint in plano and TriTek in garland are both popular. but that was from the limited google and yelp reviews that I read.

I use a place in McKinney that's not so bad. It's a bit of a drive, but then again you mentioned a place in Garland.... it is called Auto Eclips, decently priced, uses machine pre cut pieces, so no crappy looking edges, cuts in the rubber door seals, took about 45 minutes to get done, but also made an appointment

did you pick them because they were supposed to be good or because they had a groupon so it was cheaper? "not so bad" is not very comforting

EDIT: that sounds mean, but i really am curious I am fine paying an extra 1-200 to make sure it's done right.

Nah, I don't use Groupon, I say not to bad, because they were so busy i had to make my appointment 2 weeks out

I picked them cause:
A) close to other shop I was getting my roof wrapped
B) price $175, only place in McKinney using pre cut basic ceramic film for less than $200
C) close to home, I live in Mckinney

Got mine tinted at Toyota of Dallas. Did a decent job and only tint to legal percentage and lifetime guarantee.

Got mine done by Solar Eclipse Window Tinting (www.solareclipsewindowtinting.com). They did the 3 series BMW about 5 or so years ago, no problems with the tint at all. My FRS just a little under a year ago. The installer will ask what tint % you want they will go as dark as you want even if its not legal. For mine I had them keep it legal on the doors, but everything else is 5%. 180 is what I paid, and like I said they will come to you.

It could be, I drive on North Colony occasionally. If its during the week then probably not me. Dang it! Could mean there is another hot lava FRS in TC.

Anyone have a used rear bumper they want to get rid of? It can have scratches. I'm looking for one for a project.

Thanks!

Looks like that's a no.

How many FRS/BRZ's were there at The Driver's Edge? And how was it? I have been intersted in this for a while now and have not had the chance to go.

There was a SWP Limited in my run group (Green) and a Whiteout FR-S with gold RPF1s in Blue group. I think there was another DGM BRZ out and about too.

I got promoted to Blue and will be going again in December so all in all I'd call it a success

It's really great, you get just under three hours of seat time for $300 and will probably learn quite a bit while you're at it. Most people have been pretty happy with their instructors and the actual organization is run pretty competently -- they run a tight ship, especially in Green you need to make sure not to waste any time as you'll probably have to go to class or the grid pretty quickly in most cases.
