Trunk not opening
So went to the car today, and pushed my trunk release, but the trunk didn't pop open. Ok, so maybe something rolled in the trunk and pushed the button.
When I got to the trunk, put the key in, it didn't turn! Anyone else have this problem? Ended up having to reach through the back seats to find the release to fold the seats down, reached in with the snow brush to push the release button so I could open the trunk. I thought there might be something blocking the latch, so when the trunk was open, I tried turning the key again, but it didn't turn. Got the call in to dealer to check it out. Should be a warrenty issue. |

common problem, pull the seats down, pop the trunk open then go to the outside of the car.
on teh driver's side, there's a button you need to push to unlock it |

Was it only the trunk release you were having problems with? It could be the button itself (the one inside the driver's side trunk area, as bakerr6 mentioned), or it's wiring. When the button is set for the security feature (no open) the curcuit is open. So, if the wiring is bad it would make the ECU think it's in the security position, regardless of what position the button is in. The normal (non-valet) key and fob should work regardless. |

The issue was the key not turning. I didn't have the valet key with me. both the button beside the steering wheel, and the key fob didn't open the trunk, so I got into the trunk to push the "trunk release" button which disables those features. Once pushed, the trunk opened with both key and button in car. However the key didn't turn still.
So not the buttons themselves, but the key/lock. |

take to dealer and ahve them replace the key lock. There'sa mechanism in the lock itself that actuates once the key is placed in the slot
