Rust already?

I was washing my car and noticed a little rust spot inside the gas cover. Is this covered under the warranty? Is it worth having them fix it?

It is likely rail dust accumulated in that low spot, not actual body rust. Clean it out with some wax or paint clay...it'll be fine.

And the rust warranty covers perforations (holes) not surface rust...

I thought it was a newly implemented technology licensed from VW, its a method of progressive weight reduction.

Most likely rail dust from when the car was transported by train. My CR-Z had a lot of it on the paint.
