4. Tada stated that you need a different chassis on the current 86 to handle more power properly.
5. There will be a 4 cyl Supra.
6. Subaru will continue the emphasis on 4WD family vehicles.

..just merely looking at shipping costs and its effect on regional MSRP, I think it is in Toyota's best interest to continue separate production in both EU & JP to keep fans happy on both halves of the globe. This Supra will most likely be very poor value in Asia/Oceania markets, 4 cyl or not. Look at how expensive the 86 is in virtual any EU/AF/SA market..very few of their counrties directly sell 86s, especially in AF/SA, and in all 3 markets the 86 typically ends up being almost $10-20 K more expensive than in NA. Throw in any displacement and/or vehicle width taxes which many Asian countries have, the costs quickly add up for this new Supra. I would not be surprised if the 6 cyl becomes nearly equivalent to $100 K USD in many smaller markets..just saw on Lexus South Africa's website, the LC starts at an equivalent of $140 K USD as opposed to $92 K for us!

In short, when it comes to cars it is pretty awesome to live in any part of NA lol

Your inability to understand the concepts of failure mechanics and the statistics that go hand in hand with predicting the rate of failure does not render them irrelevant.

Let me know when you've built a 300hp 86 competitor at a rate of 10,000 units per year with a 5 year 60k power train warranty AND you didn't lose your shirt on warranty repairs for the cars that failed under the warranty term.

Haha, okay buddy. I'm sure the 86 stands alone as the exception to the rule. It's so special, unlike just about any other sports car in this regard. Yup.

And nothing I've said displays an inability to understand mechanical and physical properties, laws, tolerances, factors of safety, etc.

I'm glad you understand all of these physical and corporate factors. That means you understand how crash tests work and the torsional rigidity factors that affect increased hp. If you go to any decent custom car builder, they will tell you that in order to significantly increase the hp, they also have to strengthen the frame, the mounts, the transmission/clutch, the differential and the brakes.

You can certainly blow your own engine, replace your clutch, replace your mounts, as you've already voided your warranty and it is your money. But reputable companies cannot do this. And yes, what you've said does display an inability to understand mechanical and physical properties, laws, tolerances, factors of safety, etc., because they all apply to the 86.

Talking

Hah!

Thank you for regurgitating the same lame talking points that have been used on this very forum for over 5 years. A for effort.

Your day job wouldn't happen to be the actor playing Captain Obvious for Hotels.com?

I'm retired and loving it. You were the role model for Three Blind Mice?

It is literally my job to perform these kinds of analyses. You don't understand, that much is painfully obvious.

Actually I'm not so sure about that, when NA tends to get either watered down variants or missing trims and components to cut cost as we're supposedly a continent of poor cheap arses.
