Anybody have recommendations for automotive podcasts? I've been listening to driving while awesome, car talk, clutch kick and everyday driver during my commute but I always seem to run out by the end of the week.

I recently started listening to SlipAngle. You can find it on iTunes. Some good stuff on there about car setup and other things regarding racing.

Speaking of Everyday Driver, I don't know about their podcasts but the video side has really gone downhill. Pretty disappointing.

I feel like their podcasts are just like their videos: "meh" but entertaining enough to watch. They have a set formula and like to stick to it. I do like their comparison videos much better and they haven't really released any of those recently. Maybe to busy working on the TV show?

Yeah, busy working on the TV show is my guess.

Personally I'm not a fan of the German dude being on the show. He's not bad, but his segments are the opposite of the content they used to put out.

The comparisons and discussion between the two while they're driving the same car really made it for me. When it's just one guy it's pretty much the same as watching any car reviewing Youtuber. Like I said, it's not that the German guy is bad; it just doesn't make for the same kind of content I enjoyed consuming.

Oh I hate that German guy, lol, he just seems so obnoxious. He's even worse on the podcast. But ya, I agree, I like how they usually have two different takes on the same car, which was the main reason I like watching them.

Replaced the rear speakers in the Yaris since one started going back (funny how it couldn't handle the Kenwood HU).

Yup, these speakers have quite the specs for being a 5.25" speaker. I can only imagine how they would sound with proper power since they're just being fed by the HU. I set the HPF to 70 Hz since the lowest frequency these speakers can produce is 67 Hz. It sounded best with a 24 dB/octave slope. I don't know much about slopes since this is the first HU I've had that has this capability.

Since I'm celebrating 5 years of ownership, I decided to go back through some of my photos of past meets and post up a few that I hadn't previously.

Enjoy!

Man, I've been grinding a gear almost twice a week...I definitely picked up a horrible habit sometime the last 2-3 months.

I've had that happen a couple times around 2nd gear, I think.

Feels stubborn sometimes and seems like it won't go all the way.

Are you sure it isn't the cold weather? It's happened to me more in the past month than I've had since I got my Yaris back in December of last year (which was barely). I noticed I'll only grind a gear when it's the very first drive of the day, or any other time when the car has been sitting out for a bit of time. Only 2nd and reverse gears. Makes me want to change out the MTF.

This what I was thinking, although I wouldn't think the trans fluid would change viscosity by that much since you guys in the bay never really hit freezing like us here in the valley. When I experience it, I don't really get a grind, but just takes more force to get it into gear.
