How well do you know this tuner/installer and their familiarity with these vehicles?
My tuner worked on FI systems for this car (2014/15 models), but the supplied tune had to be present. When it comes to custom flashing, they don't "roll that way", but they are working with me on properly flashing the ECU at the very least.

I have options though: Wait for EB to recalibrate their CARB tune and send it to me or I buy Delicious Tuning's calibration and roll with that.

I'm doing the former now (as recommended by my installer) until EB gets back to us with a solution.

Yes! I have an automatic 17 and I can confirm it has the new alternator design. I put the Harrop SC on my car and that new wire location -just barely- touches the manifold. It almost didn't clear. I wondered wtf Harrop was thinking, now I know I just got lucky. Harrop does fit though!

Wow! It's good to know that with the MY17s going forward that a lot of these FI kits may need some tweaking in order to fit properly. I was able to get the EBSC to work around the new alternator design thankfully. All that's left is the darned ECU! Still waiting for word back from EB on their tune.

Hope EB releases a regular non CARB tune first like how they did in the beginning. If not, might be waiting for a while until they go through the process of getting it approved.

Confirmed, all 17's have the new alternator. I confirmed it personally.

What exactly did you do to get the clearance you need?

Out of curiosity, does/will the new design alternator supercede the old one? ie, if your '13-'16 has a faulty alternator and you get it replaced, will the dealership install the new version?

If so, this could be something older model owners need to be aware of.

Yeah, I would be very worried about that wire rubbing on the supercharger.

Since the connector on the control cable is different I doubt they would since it would require changing part of the wiring harness as well as the alternator. But weirder things have happened.

I've been keeping an eye on it, it doesn't seem to be affecting the wire. I've even been to the track a couple times.

That said, if I ever take the blower off for some reason (service? idk)... I'll be filing down the edge of the manifold right there to get some additional clearance. If I had realized it was that close before we'd gotten everything settled, I would have filed it down before finishing the install. Getting the blower in place though was enough of a PITA that by the time that it "fit", it wasn't coming off.

My installer said, "The alternator had to be modified a bit by removing the clip for the regulator and bending the pin to clear."

No pictures on that, but you can imagine how it went

Didn't catch that. Sounds like we'll be safe then, thanks!

Well, I suppose I could bend the pin carefully. But do you know if when the clip was removed, did they hardwire the wire to the alternator or use a low profile type connector. Just curious, as I will likely try to modify my own and don't want to mess it up.
