The person that posted before you, that you are replying to, that I was referencing, owns a 2015 BRZ.

The 2017+ BRZ has the same rear bumper as 2013-16.

So tell me... how is the rear bumper all one piece? The add-on rear lip is still available:

I was taking about the bumper cover and it’s integrated “valence”.

Subaru markets the optional diffuser as functional but who knows.
