Um... There are Firmware updates. Many owners have had serious issues with them.

If an apocalyptic event were to happen, I fear this would only succeed in making you the target of a well sorted, but not quite as eco-friendly, militia. Among other things.

Oh no. The trick is to form the militia yourself. Come here! You can get a shower every few days. We have water! And guns!

Looks like I've ran over some blade and cut the side wall of my winter tires. My guess is, I need to get a replacement. Now question is should I buy same winter tires (Hankook IPike) or go different route like Blizzak W80, X-Ice 3, Arctic 12... or maybe some other ones.

Our local 86 group seems to favor the x-ice 3. Depends on your climate I guess, but we get very little snow and mostly just slush/ice.

Planning to swap to my winter wheels/tires this weekend (Nokian WRG3 all weather)... it was -1C on the drive to work today and they aren't salting roads yet so I feel like I'm asking for trouble with black ice and summer tires...

Can't recommend the Nokians by the way. My dad bought them as they performed really well on my Pontiac G5... not so much on this RWD car. Keeping them until they are worn out and will get proper snows after that.

Many Subaru owners have problems as well now. You can't with any credibility belittle Elon musk's achievements. Companies who've been in business 3x as long still can't get their shit together

That is a fair point. I'm not a Tesla fan, but without Musk I don't think other manufacturers would be in any hurry to change all of their tooling.
