Ok, quick update.
I have taken it to the dealer, and they replaced the oil with Castrol VMX 80 which supposedly should be good for cold starts and such. To me it sounds like they are trying to mask the problem. I will give it another couple of days and see how it goes, and then call them back if the noise is still there. Sounds like there is plenty of play in there! Hmm! |

I had this same issue with mine.
The dealer replaced the transmission and I never noticed it afterwards. Unfortunately, I can't say for sure if it fixed it because I no longer have the BRZ. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk

Update: had the transmission oil changed to VMX80 and it seems that the noise is not as obvious however I am afraid that the issue is being masked rather than resolved!
I will wait for another week or tow and see how this is going! |

You change your flywheel? Never had an aftermarket flywheel that didn't sound like a cement truck.

Alot of guys have this noise for quite sometime now. So far nothing has failed yet just noise. When i do my clutch i will change the Input bearing too and maybe the input shaft aswell

This sounds like flywheel rattle to me.
