I have a question:

I'm getting a set of RPF1's this weekend, they're secondhand and have previously been paired to a BRZ. Starting this weekend, the RPF1's will be my only set of wheels, and I want to make sure I understand the process for getting my own FRS to correctly register my new set of wheels.

Get the Sensor IDs from the previous owner, bring your car to a dealer and have them out in the new IDs for you. Expect to pay a $50 fee or so.

Or find someone with an ATEQ tool and buy them a six pack to do the same.

If you don't have the IDs, now you have to get them scanned first (if someone has a scanning tool) or you'll have to have the tires unmounted so the IDs can be visually read off the device.

Just want to confirm some stuff. I have an old set of Work wheels from a car that didn't have TPMS. I just need to buy a set of TPMS sensors and mounting hardware from someplace like TireRack, then I can use the ATEQ to read my stock TPMS code and clone them onto the Works and that should make my Work and stock tires interchangeable, correct?

Let me get this straight. They can clone your original TPMS codes, so in theory you could have 2 sets of tires with TPMS that would work with your car?

Yes, that's correct. No need to program the computer every time you swap wheel sets.

Ok one last question, where do you get the codes to tell Titan TPMS?

Either physically printed on your sensors (if you have the tires off your wheels) or via a TPMS scan tool than any tire place can provide.

I saw the question asked but didn't see an answer:
I bought Volk TE37SL which come with valve stems. Are they compatible with the stock sensors? In clearer terms, could I take the sensors of the stock valves and put them on the red ones that came with my volk wheels? Please pm me the answer if possible as I never seem to get notifications about being quotes. Thanks.

Bumping to get some clarity on this. What have people done to get identical TPMS working on aftermarket wheels?

I just stumbled upon this method:

http://www.standardbrand.com/TPMS-St...s/Content.aspx

Looks like their cloning tool is sold by Amazon for $100.

http://amzn.com/B008479YYY

Unfortunately I am unable to find the Standard Brand TPMS sensor part number which is TPM144.

Edit: The TPM144 sensors are available at a few places online, ranging in price from $60 to $130. I can't tell if they are the clone-able type tough.

I have a 2nd set of OEM TPMS sensors, so I guess they would work with that? $100 to do a one-time clone though...

I think that tool only works with their brand TPMS sensors.

Considering its $50 at the dealer to program new TPMS sensors into the ECU, $100 for a permanent solution is a bargain. After you use it you could sell it.
