Clutch peddle loud squeak
Hey all. I started hearing a creaking sound when I would press down on the clutch specially after the car was warm. The noise was coming from the transmission housing so I took it in to Subaru and they are replacing my clutch right now under warranty. It's a 13 BRZ.
So if anyone is having this problem and you are still under warranty, go ahead and take it in for a new clutch! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I'm starting to have this issue again as well. I made a warranty claim a long time ago when I had this issue. Subaru ended up replacing some bearing. The issue was fixed for over a year until recently when it started squeaking again. I'm out of warranty now.

I took it into Subaru Pacific in Torrance. As long as you haven't done any modifications that would void your warranty it will be covered. I'm also having my tail lights swapped out under warranty for the water leakage issue. They should give you a loner as well while your car is there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

It should be. They are busy so your car will most likely have to stay the a few days. Request a loner and they'll find one for you. I'm hoping to pick up my car in the next few days to try out the new clutch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have this, as does every manual BRZ I've ever driven (+30 different cars). Not sure what the cause is, but it seems like this affects every car sold with a manual, and the only people reporting they don't have this issue are people who haven't heard it before and don't know what they're listening for.

36 36 warranty b2b
Mine is at dealer. Replacing bearing. I hope they check pressure plate as it can contribute to odd sounds and squeaks too. Btw only present in mine when warm.

I had the crunchy pedal feel, and a squeak for a couple thousand miles, when my TOB totally went out and starting making a high pitched whine.
So I dropped my tranny and put in an ACT clutch kit (with a new TOB), lubed the fuck out of everything, and the squeak was gone. All was fine. ~1,000 miles in and the dreaded squeak is starting to come back.

3 months ago I cleaned/lubed the point where the slave actuator rod meets the clutch fork & it worked a treat . . . . up until now :/ Strange thing is that it's stopped squeaking again but I'm sure not for long.
I'm no expert on this but I'm guessing as it gets so damn dusty/dirty under hood so quickly on these cars that the paint/coating on the fork receptacle has scratched & started to corrode where the ball end of the actuator meets/touches as a result of scuffing which I reckon is causing the squeak. Cleaning the area of all contaminated grease & re-greasing it seems a temporary fix unless I protect the area of dirt. When that squeak comes back I will clean/lube as done previously (see foot of p13 as per quoted @Ultramaroon instructions) & figure out a solution to prevent anymore dirt attaching itself to the fresh grease - worth a try I guess. |
