Did it leave the little white part exposed or does it actually block the reverse lock out from working?

I just recieved my Ryan Tuerck shift knob today. I have the blox adapter coming in order to clean up the look a little bit, but I found that if you put some paper towels in the knob before screwing it on you can get it to sit at the right hight to clear the reverse lockout.

I must admit having been a bit let down by the fact it isn't plug and play compatible with the reverse-lock mechanism.

I ended up picking up a few brass washers and stacked em up and taped em together. Then I put 2 rubber washers that were the same size as the brass ones, one at each end of the makeshift spacer.

The aim is that the rubber helps me screw on the shifter to where it is tight and facing in the right direction, without having to screw so hard that I might damage threads.

I impulse bought one. You have to unscrew it if you want to reverse. You would think a Toyota-themed part would fit on a Toyota, right?

I have it and I used loctite to secure the inner thread and the knob itself. I like it, of course you can screw it down enough to leave spave for the lock out...it isn't a big deal to me though.

Having a loose shift knob is an issue.

Having to unscrew also is an issue.

Hell paper towel ? I wouldn't have thought of that lol.!

Apart from puting a spacer at the bottom, you could probably also use a nut and screw it on before the shoftknob, but I couldn't find one in the 12 x 1.5 thread at the local hardware/auto stores.

You could also enlarge the bore of the, say, first 3/4 in in the inner thread of the knob. It'l sit lower in the end but the reverse-lock could sit inside it and the white plastic bit wouldn't show, which it does with my spacer setup. As they should've made the thing.

Honestly, if they were to make a classic Toyota motorsport colorway on it AND show an install tuto using an frs, they sould've checked to see if it fits with a the stock one.

I wouldn't recommend anyone here to go and buy one.
