Glad this design stayed a concept, it looks like ass.

It was a design study. Any production car stemming from it would have some changes. The fundamentals are there for a beautiful shape.

Speaking of 2.4 liter, wasnt the newer/mid generation 240sx using a KA24DE 2.4 liter engine???
The first gen 240's used the KA24E(Single Cam) until they changed the front and got rid of the pignose. 1991 and on used the twin cam KA24DE.

I hope that if Nissan makes a BRZ competitor, which they sorely lack IMO, they'll do a sort of homage to the 240. THey need to give it a proper name though, because they have no sporty engines in 2.4l. Personally I think it needs to weigh between 2700lbs and 3000lbs. Modern suspension setup like the BRZ. Pretty much copy everything about the BRZ except the flat-4. RWD, 2 seats and 2 "passenger" seats, coupe, e.t.c.

The engine they should pick should be the 1.6l MR16DDT. They could tune the output to around 225-250hp. Whether that's messing with the turbo and other parts, or just boring it out to 1.8l-2.0l doesn't matter really. The engine is used in the Juke and, more importantly, the Nissan Delta-Wing race car. That means performance, reliability, and availability are taken care of without needing to develop a whole new engine.

The Delta-Wing link could be used in advertising as well. Since it's also DI AND Turbo, they could try some sort of quasi fuel efficiency gimmick too. Either way, this is a car Nissan NEEDS to build.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a Nissan guy at heart. I owned an SR swapped 1990 wingless coupe. I even cross shopped a 370Z against this, but the BRZ Limited had standard features that pushed the optioned 370Z into $40,000 territory. Needless to say, if a modern Silvia existed at a NA Nissan dealer, I would've probably been driving it now.

Nissan NEEDS a lower performance model. You have the ultra high performance GT-R, and the mid-level 370Z, there is no entry level performance model. Clearly the market exists for it, Nissan just needs to bite the bullet and make it.

If only Nissan would stop building dumbass niche cars I.E. the Juke, and get their heads out of their asses, they could've been right in competition with the FRS/BRZ. Sadly they will probably be late to the party as usual.

Amen @Zadkiel! :happy0180:

Really good point about the Delta Wing connection. I personally really like NA, though, so I'd like to see them come up with a solution that doesn't require boost. And they need to bring back the Datsun name. You know, for all of us nostalgic types

Thank you! I couldn't have said it better. I used to own an s13 hatch and I swapped in an s15 SR. I was in love with my S chassis. Sold it earlier this year and used to as a down payment for my FR-S... which I ALMOST regret. Needless to say, if Nissan did develop a l4 turbo, entry level sports car, I'd be all over that.

I been hearing rumors that the new Z will take styling cues from the Nissan Esflow concept.

Would make sense as a lot of the elements of the classic sports car shape are there.
