two different track events
since I'm pretty sure my supercharger was what killed my car.. probably going to keep my FRS engine close to stock when I take this new car to the tracks in norcal lol. I have developed a fear of my car breaking that I have to get over

I don't think corollas respond to boost very well lol

The FA20 is great for F/I applications if you get a good kit from a vendor on here.

which is probably why it broke. The last event was november from 2 years ago, in heavy rain.

This time, i took it on the track. It almost made 1 full lap (the first one), when it went ka-boom. So essentially I had zero track time :/

you have pix of the SC? or what type was it.
What motor was it on 2zz 1zz ect? What tuning solution were you on?
I have a greddy SC on my celica gts 2zz motor and it is currently making 257hp on e-85 at about 10/11 psi of boost.

Even the 1zz does decent on boost. But I do know oil starvation on the track is murder on thees motors. Go around a corner fast and have the oil pick up pull just a little air / no oil = death to the 2zz.

Sorry for all the questions. I am just very curious what takes these motors out.

its the 03-07 trd supercharger, 1zz. Don't know what tuning solution is.

I never had a oil starvation issue that I was aware of, but what happened at the track was I lost half my oil cus it shot out of the PCV valve, and the carwouldn't turn over afterwards. There was no sound or detonation of anysort thesupercharger justwouldn't spool (just ran rich when I stomped on the gas).

don't really remember if i have any supercharger pictures, but it might be in my photobucket somewhere..

come to think of it.. I think my last oil change before the track had metal shavings in it. Maybe my car was already destined to fail befoe it even went?

Aww man I am so sorry a lot of metal in oil is bad news.
I have heard of something similar happening on a friends matrix.
tuning solution ..... sorry i meant if you had a stand alone computer, piggy back ecu. but I believe the trd supercharger comes with a computer swap.

It may have been oil starvation in the past that originally hurt it or something totally different.
I know on the 2zz motors you don't really feel it not getting the oil it just happens when you a full throttle and going around a corner really fast. All the oil in the pan is pushed up to one side and the oil does not get where it needs. then kaboom. they now make pans with baffles and stuff to help prevent stuff like that.

But thats no worry now cuz got the FRS and it seems to love FI compared to the zz motors.

everybody in the norcal area is pretty nice and will tend to help with advise.
