Yeah, I don't know what was going on. I've only done it once before, but it was pretty much with the same guys and we got through that part pretty fast last time. I was kind of disappointed but not really sure where we were messing up since I was kind of hazzy on how we did it last time.

*edit-We have through tonight to run it again from the same spot. I'm sure a few of those guys will want to run it again. One of the guys who didn't play last night led us through it last time, so maybe he'll play tonight to help out.

Gatekeeper was buggy as hell for us this weekend. Not sure if that had to do with why you guys couldn't finish though.

I think that possibly could be it. I know we were having a lot of issues getting in and out etc. Then we'd all get marked for death and have to reset.

I don't think Bungies servers are very reliable either. A guy I played with all weekend kept dropping out of our fireteam when we would run stories/strikes etc. The game would also freeze multiple times while it loaded for 20 seconds or so.

Something weird was definitely going on when we tried to do the second portal, I'm pretty sure we were doing something wrong. Although I have no idea what.

I'm around tonight, want to get this done. Still never beat the raid.

That's cool. I'm sure they'll run it again as tonight is the last chance to run it from the Atheon checkpoint before it resets. I should be on around 7 or so (I'm on Central time).

Where can I find the story or lore of the VOG? I'd love to know what I'm doing there and why but for some reason the game doesn't tell me anything about it.

Sometimes I get the feeling that the Vex aren't the bad guys, just some confused robots trying their method of fighting the Darkness. Sure some of their actions are detrimental to humans, just as ours are towards them.

Actually I feel that way about most enemies except the Hive.

Well, to any machines a living form that doesn't make strictly logical decisions is obsolete. We've got plenty of story to go though. DLC, expansions, sequels. Bungie said it's a ten year franchise, after all.

The bug we kept having was that the enemies would not move, would take damage but regen asap, portal would not open, etc. We kept having to reset over and over. The one experienced guy in our raid stated that it's a normal thing so who knows.

Supposedly, and this is internet hearsay, that was actually the original story. But then Bungie's lead story writer left, maybe due to differences in the way they wanted the direction to go? Anyway, they hired a writer, chopped and copied and pasted everything back together to form some semblance of story. Those are the grimoire cards. They say an awful lot but you have to go to the app or site to read them.

You can even see in past trailers and things that the story was in a different direction. The queen's brother, for example, was "Crow" and met the player on Earth.. so yeah..
