That child seat doesn't look even close to the correct angle.
You might be better off getting the front airbag disabled, putting the kid seat in the front then put the wife in the back. You could also gain a few inches by not using the base. This car was off the radar until they moved to front facing. |

They do, but it's not reliable. You buy a bypass switch/button which turns it off for sure (and then the weight thing is a backup in case something goes wrong).
Remember, the airbag comes out at 200km/hr and is almost certain death for an infant in a rear facing. You're not supposed to put them in the front period, but with 2 seaters sometimes you have no choice (boxter/cayman/430, etc) |
