Carbon dash trim

Any people making dry carbon (or wet carbon ) dash insert replacements?

you know the silver bit on the BRZ? replace it with 100% dry carbon or wet carbon.

Why would you want to pay crazy money to get a cosmetic part in real CF? The wrapped one on your pic does the job...

I am sure that someone else has thought of it. Heck, we've considered it. There is simply a substantial cost in having the molds made and then the actual carbon parts produced from it.

IMHO the FR-S panels look much better than the Subaru Silver. I'm considering Plasti-Dipping mine to Dark Gray.

If I had the BRZ I would do this. Not a fan of the silver dash. I'm fine with the one in my FR-S though.

Vinyl Wrap it?

I was thinking a mutual "black" instead of a CF look.

Exactly. This is the type of product we prefer and this is the path we have already begun to pursue. Unfortunately, it is a time consuming process and one that requires a tremendous upfront expense. We would need to establish interest within the marketplace in order to proceed further to justify the costs of tooling / mold creation.

Cheers,
Alex

Why? Just so you can say "hey look at my real carbon fiber dash piece"? I don't get it...

I believe the best way to answer your question is that it is a matter of personal preference. Why do we do anything to our cars? We want to have fun, to enjoy them and to make them our own. We're all enthusiasts and it is in our nature to have different tastes and preferences. These differences are vital to the community and allow us all to enjoy the modifications we each perform.

I quite enjoy the look and feel of carbon fiber, and as such I would like to add a bit of personalisation to my vehicle ****pit. I understand it will not save much weight since the stock item is ABS plastic, but it will still make my 86, just that little bit different to any other 86 I may come across.
