An experienced go- kart racer, he was on a practice run Aug. 1 in Quebec prior to the Le Monaco de Trois-Rivieres, Canada’s biggest karting event, when he crashed on a 90-degree turn. After hitting hay bales, he hit other cars.
Climo suffered a serious head injury. He had brain surgery and was placed in a medically induced coma. He is now showing small signs of improvement and his parents, Lisa and Ed Climo, want to return him to Virginia. The Climos have insurance through Fairfax County Public Schools, where Lisa Climo is a teacher.
The transport is expected to cost more than $20,000. Ayrton Climo, who was supposed to attend James Madison University this fall, is facing more than a year of rehabilitation.

Lisa Climo, stunned, has been pushing Fairfax County schools to step in, to make an exception as the self-insurer. Fairfax schools officials said Friday they could not discuss the case without a waiver from the Climos, but that the insurance companies typically handle all the decisions on coverage, and that customers can appeal decisions.

Half of my siblings went through South Lakes high school before living in various countries over the years. There is a ton of things wrong with this story, but the most blaring is that they havent mentioned the US embassy at all. No law abiding US citizen is ever forcibly stuck outside the US. They can and will help you get home, know this from first hand experience. The other thing thats wrong with this is the claim that insurance won't pay for transport. I've never heard of that before unless there is a damn good reason, such as AMA, against medical advice. If its in the patients best interest to stay where he/her is, and moving them would carry the potential for death, odds are they arent going to move him without a major reason as it would be negligent to do so. I can go on with all the reasons that the way that story is written, it makes no sense but ill keep this post short.

Thats kinda the general impression, but it depends on what criteria you are evaluating health care. Each situation is different and provides bureaucratic difficulties. Ultimately the impression of care you receive depends solely on who you interact with during patient care.

I just want to clarify I am truly sorry for the difficulties that gentleman is experiencing, but I would be overly cautious before giving money, the way that story was written raises a ton of red flags.

Car troubles.

Well, the main trouble is not the car's fault but my dealer. Four times now they've attempted to fix an issue and then literally didn't even attempt to fix it but were convinced they did. I wish I was exaggerating, but that is literally what is happening. It has happened several times now with different problems. They call me up, say they fixed it, I get it and discover they didn't and their reply is "Huh, guess we didn't even attempt the fix, you're right, damn sorry, we'll try again."

If I wanted to drop my car off somewhere and not have it fixed I can do that from the comfort of my driveway.

Also my Valenti tail light crapped out on me. ModBargains will be contacting me Monday. I am really hoping they will step up and just send me a new one and not make me **** with the manufacturer myself.

I've been toying with the idea of selling my FR-S for an E46 M3, but if I'm having this many problems with a new Japanese car under warranty...

New Miata looks bitching. Can't live with a convertible though.

Exact same damage happened to my poor Si when my mom's friend backed into it. You have my sympathy. You don't live in central VA, so I won't bother warning you not to take it to Bruce's Super Bodyshop.

Sorry MidAtl, had a few drinks and just needed an evening rant. Hope everyone and their cars are well.

I'm fine lol. I laughed it off. It's the 3rd accident with 2 different frs. One totaled, and this car got hit twice at work. A new employee hit it with a 26 foot truck and didn't even bother to tell me because "he didn't notice it."

The company will be paying for the damages, but I will fight tooth and nail for the depreciation value.

I'm also going to plan on selling it and getting something cheaper. Any ideas or suggestions?
