I'm guessing you have the manual as well? The switch to a shorter final drive doesn't seem to greatly hit fuel mileage. I'd bet over a similar road in identical conditions, the slightly taller 4.1 ratio would net a minor improvement overall, but likely not a good enough trade off to loose the slightly better acceleration.

I'm terrible about remembering to use Fuelio, so I can only go off of my dash which I always assume is 10% over. I typically see 28 lifetime with a 50:50 mix of highway and city. So probably 26 at worst and maybe 30 at best. If I'm going easy, I shift at 2.5~3k. I don't know how anyone drives around at 4K or higher; I'm patient enough to just use the taller get and get there slower while also saving a little more on gas.

Also, after turning 30, I'm not feeling as aggressive from behind the wheel. I've calmed down a lot. I still corner fast, but I don't feel like redlining it as much.

My last tank was 25MPG.

I converted from KM. 431km on 39 liters. My best tank was just over 600km driving with cruise set to 110km from Toronto to Ottawa.

I also have 4.3 F.D which probably knocks a bit off from the older cars.

Just hitting 5700 miles on my 2018 86 GT manual bone stock and my daily commute is about 90% highway bumper-to-bumper traffic. I drive very casually and have never hit the reset button, averaging about 30.7mpg

What's your mileage?
Have you swapped out your spark plugs, transmission/diff fluids, tires?

When we had a 13 fr-s we consistently got 32, with our 17 86 we get 30. Probably the change in the final drive reflected here.

21 avg mpg here but I drive 100% in short trips that are within a few minutes and always faster than the surrounding traffic. It's very rare that I am the one getting passed.
Sometimes I just drive around aimlessly to really heat everything up properly. On longer trips getting mid 30s MPG is easily done though.

Probably, but what about also the change in the intake manifold / header ? More free flow there, could this net a bit less mpg ?

The "computer" in my 2013 BRZ manual indicates 20.5

So, worse than that.

I drive according to why this car was engineered, manufactured and marketed. And it's lots of fun.

Later on we'll have our autonomous cars and government mandated meds. "It's for your safety"

Until then, I'll goose the accelerator, twirl the wheel and have a blast and a half.

I just think that the higher rpm reflected from the 4.3 over the 4.1 is the only change here; where doing 3,000 in the fr-s it is more like 3,150 in the 86 at the same speed.

2018 limited 6spd that just ticked over 5000 miles today, but I've been getting around 30.5 mpg, last tank was the best near 32mpg. Computer shows 32.3 most of the time, I guess they are starting to match up now.
