Oh well, at least it looks like he's getting better over time.

Yeah, I was extremely disappointed with the RX7 build. He'd gone on and on about how he'd always dreamed of importing a JDM one, etc. etc. Then he finally gets it, it's running, and he cuts it all up, does a shitty job painting it, etc.

I've followed some videos from the channel of the guy who bought it from Chris and it turns out he's had to fix a lot of BS work that Chris did to it. Super unfortunate.

But there's still some entertainment value watching him work on his projects. Just wish he'd do things correctly or, you know, not have to widebody/rocket bunny every car he works on.

Yeah. I love the idea of what he does, the challenge/underdog aspect, etc.

But I just wish he wasn't so stuck on certain things like that.

Like if he loves RX7's so much why'd he have to cut into the nice one he got, he could've just restored it. There are so many beautiful JDM FD's I follow on Instagram that haven't been cut into or anything to look good and function well.

Same. I like the idea of him "trying things" or "figuring it out" by himself, but can't he try to figure it out by doing it the right way instead of winging it and only getting things from home depot?

That's why I like these guys better:

Credit to SA that they spend a good chunk of their time actually at the track. I wish they didn't pander so much to their sponsors but hey they're on a budget so a discount set of Fortune Autos gets the job done these days since it seems BC has upped their manufacturing game from the horror stories of the '90s-00s. Decent advice for the casual HPDE world it seems.

Ya, gotta pay the bills somehow. I do like some of the features they've done over the years. The Porsche 930 engine tear down and rebuild was so detailed, I feel like I can totally buy a junked 911 and rebuild it myself

Guess I lost that sentiment in the rewriting of my post, I get why they do the things that they do, they're on a budget and I don't think they're recommending bad parts, I think I just disagree a bit on their perspective. I think the last statement I made covers it well, they offer good advice for casual HPDE people interested in modifying their cars.

That was really good. The e28 overhaul was great too.
