That will be an awesome color to see. Lemme know if you do it and I can go up there during the build process and sneak you some pics pre-delivery

Does anyone have any specs on these? I can't find them anywhere other than available rotor diameter.

Whenever I see a car rolling rotas, I immediately assume the other mods are questionable.

This is no different.

They might be great brakes, who knows. But, if you've cheaped out on wheels, you probably have elsewhere.

Its more logic, than being a snob.

Would you buy a brand new suit and wear sandals?

Putting rota's on a brand new car is the mechanical version of that.

I would wear sandals if the boss let me

Seriously though, Baer have a good rep and what's to say the bloke who bought these brakes had enough cash left over to buy TE37's? Rota are not the best, but at least he has put good money into nice brakes.

Sorry, that's not true about it being a budget sports car. It might be in the states, where the car is mid 20k, and it's socially acceptable (if not encourages via no interest loads) to finance the car. So you have people making $30k a year with a car worth about the same. This type of lending mentality is where the financial crisis came from.

Most other countries, the car costs significantly more, $40k - $70k in NZ for example. I'd also say it's much harder to get finance, simply because financing a depreciating asset. In most countries other than the states, you're definitely doing somethig well to buy a new sports car.

When I hear "oh I could only afford rota's" from an 86 owner, I then question the logic in why that person bought a brand new car!

When they say "afford" they aren't phrasing themselves properly. What they really mean to tell you is that the incremental value of more expensive wheels is not worth the additional cost to them.

I will 100% fully agree with you that the american mentality on spending, money and financing being fucked.

I financed, but only because I make more than the loan interest rate by keeping the money in my hand.

anyway,

When I hear "oh i spent 3k on wheels for my 25 grand car" I want to punch that person in the junk and judge the poor job their parents did.

When they put $3k wheels on a $3k car, thats just as annoying as seeing cheap wheels on a good car.

People think its baller. Its not.

I've seen shitty old corollas with meisters, and drum brakes. LOL
