Just received my VIN# from the dealership. Said that the car arrived at the port and it would be 3 to 5 days to arrive in Texas. I guess I could have it by Friday at the earliest?

Saw a blue BRZ earlier this evening at the Costco up north! Not sure if he saw me driving by in my FR-S.

Yeah that was me!

Would anyone be interested in a weeknight meet? We could pick a coffee shop or restaurant somewhere?

So when I was picking up my Whiteout FR-S yesterday at San Marcos Toyota, they also received a Argento FR-S from the same truck. It's not promised to anyone yet I was told so if anyone is looking for one...FYI.

I just got ceramic tint put on my FRS today at Mother's on South Lamar. $399 before tax but if you text the number on their website you get $40 off after they text you back. 35% on the sides (per State Law) and 20% on the back. Here are a few pics:

Nice. But $399?wow. I got the very top of the line ceramic from SunTint for a little over $300 two months ago and I thought that was too expensive already cause they dont exactly need a ton of tint film to cover our windows.

Congrats on the new car though.3rd whiteout on this forum from austin

Thanks. I opted for the Madico Wincos film which had a blue/grey tint and 92% IR rejection. I really didn't shop around and went to the closest place from my part of town that would do it right away. I was happy with their tint job and it didn't take that long. More for keeping the car cool rather than a privacy deal.

Looks sweet. Looks like Ultramarine is the same color as the BRZ Galaxy Blue.

I've always wondered about tinting down here in TX. I've seen so many cars around 5-7 years old where there's just a crapload of bubbles between the window and tint film -- even on nice cars where I can't believe they skimpted out on the tint. Is it inevitable with our heat that 5 years down the road the tint job will look like crap?

Where I went for tint had a $99 tint deal that only carried a 3 yr warranty. That type has little effect on blocking heat. I had that type on my pickup truck in college and at about year 4 the bubbles started to form and peel back was starting. On my previous vehicle, I opted for the $200 midrange tint that had a lifetime warranty and some heat blocking. It never bubbled or peeled back (9 yrs) but was quite thin and scratched easily. Most places that carry metallic or ceramic tint can do a demo with a heat lamp or heat gun to show you how much more heat is blocked. It's like night and day. Yeah, it's quite shocking to see luxury vehicles out there that have bad tint jobs.
