I'll be trying out a set of Tein S-Tech springs as soon as they come in. I'll cut my bump stops to the correct size. I'm hoping Koni will come out with some sport shocks, but I have yet to see any manufacture with shocks for these cars. Has anyone seen any?

H&R has a Super Sport spring out also thats 1.2"/1.6" drop. Not sure why both of their kits have more drop in the rear.

Someone asked me what springs I installed, do instead of going off topic in that thread, I decided to post it up on here...

I just installed Tein S-Tech springs over the weekend. I think it adds a nice slight drop. It feels normal/stock with everyday driving, but you can feel the firmness in the turns and bumps. On the way to work, I go over a set of rail road tracks. This is kind of a gauge for me. In my Miata with stock springs, it was smooth sailing. With Eibach Pro kit springs, I could feel the rails on the rail road, but still a fair/smooth ride over them. With the FR-S, it was just a tad firmer than the Miata with Eibach springs. With the Tein S-Tech, the car felt firmer over the rail road, but it launched me off my seat by like 3 inches. It was funny. The car stayed planted, but I didn't. hehe I guess you could say the springs feel or are progressive. On the highway, the car felt awesome. And it felt even better zipping through the slow 25mph on/off ramps. If I had to do it again, I probably would... or try the Eibach Sportline kit. The Tein's can be had for under $190. So it's a great deal.

For the install, you need to cut about .6 inch off the front bump stop. For the rears you leave the full bump stop. Also, when installing the rears, you do not need a spring compressor to mount the top hat with the Tein rear spring. Just push down on the spring and slip on the nut. Easy peezy. I'll post pictures of the car dropped, but here are some spring pics...

Here's an iphone pic of the car with springs installed. Dummy me forgot to measure stock ride height vs. Tein spring install height. I could use some wider tires or different offset wheels to fill the gap better.

I installed the s tech a couple of nights earlier and test it on the road. This was done after the alignment. The car feel twitchy at times and during hard turn the car dive into and understeer before transitioning into an oversteer. Perhaps the road wasn't perfect, but it caught me by surprise how different it feels between stock vs the s-tech.
