I bet if the car came with something else, these would sell as well as any other aftermarket style.
While they are not the absolute worst wheels that could have been put on the car, IMO, they do not fit the car well.

I understand that the following reasons all together are basically why we have them though: The budget, what toyrubaru had available in their combined parts "bin", that MPG was a deciding factor for using the LRR tires, and that the wheels they chose needed to fit the LRR tires, thus the 17x7s.

IMO...
17x7 is weak.

17x7.5 is better

17x8 would have been perfect for OEM

Like these. They are even "Five spokes" (sort of)

These would have been cool too.

Or they could have collaborated with RH for a set that fits our cars. They co-branded wheels for Scion XA Xb iQ Toyota MR2

These are RH / TRD 18x7.5 4x100

For the record: The three spoke mustang wheels are some of the worst EVER on a sports car. They are even more sunk in than our OEM wheels! You can add 2" spacers! All the different styles of OEM mustang three spoke wheels are just terrible looking.

example...

Were they really parts-bin wheels? I remember hearing something about the Corolla. There's a wheel that looks similar but that doesn't mean squat. I think they were designed specifically for this platform.

I know that I wasn't clear, but it's the tires I was talking about being from the "parts-bin". I usually write better

I’d say the same thing about the stock spoilers as well. Not saying everyone hates it, but it fits the car very well and does look like something the aftermarket would offer if it didn’t come stock. I’m not the biggest fan of those wheels, but as others have said, if they came in a different size, they wouldn’t be that bad.

That's another good point. Quite tasteful, actually. I'm jealous of the second gen brz spoiler.

I quite enjoy mine, especially with the Drambeenie risers.

Where do you work? I'll ring up your boss and suggest he/she give you a project to work on.
