Heated Seats not working after Headunit install/ Console Removed
I recently installed a new headunit into my 2014 BRZ. Removed the centre console to wire in a USB Port and remove the Factory Power Outlet.
At some point, the heated seats stopped working. There is not heat and no light displayed on the switches. Troubleshooting steps: Pulled both Heated Seats fuses and found no issues. Plugged power outlet in and its receiving power. Double checked the plugs were properly connected to the Heated Seats Attempted disconnecting and reconnecting heated seats and power outlet. Is there anything that may be related specifically to the deck install that could be causing this? Are there any other fuses or plugs for these seats that I might be missing..? So far, no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated! |

Do you have a power probe? You can try applying power directly to the switch to see if its before or after the switch you have an issue.
If you have a test like, start tracing the wires for the seats and see if you have power at the fuses/connections/switches. Do you have any other items that are not working? Like cig lighters? |

Definitely check fuses on that circuit. With the center console having been removed, there's a chance maybe something arced out and popped a fuse on the line.

Thanks for all the support guys. I will switch out the two fuses for LEFT and RIGHT heated seats. I bought a volt meter on amazon, just waiting for that to arrive.
I'll likely try disconnecting the aftermarket to OEM harnesses from the aftermarket deck if the replacement fuses don't resolve the issue. The fuses don't appear to be blown, but I'll try that anyways. I've gone over the two plugs for the seat heaters and the connections at the plug and don't visually see any issues. Are there any other areas I should look at in the mean time? |

Go to page 300. Power feeds the switches and then goes to the heating elements. A) you shorted the system when removing or installing the seats and blew the fuses. Check the fuses with a VOM. B) you did not plug some connectors in correct. With there being separate grounds for seat heating and switch light illumination I would not think it was a ground issue. Looks like you would have to mess up 3 grounds to have nothing work. C) if that does not fix it disconnect switch plugs. Check for 12V on pin 2. Check for ground on pin 3. Check for some value of resistance on pins 4 and 1. Report back. |

Hey guys! i have a new UPDATE:
I found a Light probe tool in my garage and tested in out on the battery (confirmed the tool works) I did some poking around the switched and determined that the seats are seat heater wiring is giving power!!!! The Hot wire is delivering power to the switch. High Heat switch ON is receiving power. Low Heat switch ON is receiving power. Confirmed that The Power Outlet is working (I knew this from the start) I'm unsure as to WHY both Lights on the switches are not functioning though. I didn't bother replacing the seat heater fuses once I determined that the Line was hot and it was delivering power to and through the switches. |
