Laminova and what it means to you.
A cooling system typically utilized in supercharging an engine that cools the post-compressed air with a liquid-to-air heat exchanger and in this case of the Stage 2 Innovate setup the Heat Exchanger is mounted in the front of the car. Laminova has been used in factory setups from the Cobalt, Corvette ZR1 and the Cadillac STS-V. Over @ Science of Speed they play with supercharges on S2000s and NSXs and do some testing with and without Laminova-post-charge-cooling. http://www.scienceofspeed.com/produc...a_Intercooler/ IAT's: DYNO: MANIFOLD PRESSURE: Images are from SC'd NSX and taken from SoS website. Their bit about their 2.1L Supercharger says something I haven't seen discussed yet in any FI thread: recommend higher heat range plugs (aka colder plugs). In a Japanese plug like NGK that means going from a 6 to a 7 (higher is colder). And what's this I see in the far corners of the googleplex? An M3 with a PD SC kit and a laminova heat exchanger?! Oh Mercy no, how could Jesus let this happen!!!! http://www.eurosporthighperformance....ercharger.html And so with that ladies and gentlemen I bid you ado. All hail the Scorpion!

rice,
I'm interested in learning more about the stage two offering here- no interest in my climate for the non intercooled solutions, sorry the dynos look nice right? cold runs on water to air are usually very different than after a good warm up and some soak; it retains heat more so than an air to air setup, but in well setup intsalls, it can be a boon when compared with the same kit without one lets have a look at the dynos after a few laps and some real world heat soak, do you know if the unit used is SPRINTEX S5-150 or 210 model compressor? what size heat exchanger are they running?pump? or is it a radiator cooled setup? http://97.74.32.155/files/intercool.pdf would love these details as it seems the majority of folk are queued up for this system, could someone share this info with me? I didnt find it in my search. it looks like sprintex sells a few kits, minis and jeeps mostly, little different market than vortech http://www.sprintex.com.au/sprintex/# or am I looking at a different sprintex here? does innovate sell any other supercharger solutions? http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/xcart/home.php http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/products.php or is the spider(aka scorpion) casting something being put together at a dealer level? dont mean to be the one to ask tough questions, but answers welcome dont accuse me of trolling just cause I ask questions Last edited by gmookher; 01-15-2013 at 05:40 AM. |

The kit was developed by Bullet Cars here in Australia, and is being refined by Innovate... http://www.bulletcars.com/
They had their choice of superchargers to use, they went with the sprintex. |

well I do have a 2nd BRZ...
that could be fun I find the ambiguity annoying tho, same with lack of community involvement, it must be a trust thing I have... working with a company on their first FI on a first model car because of their their respected line of wideband oxygen sensor systems, gauges, and OBD-II dataloggers feels just a little bit weird to me, but then I'm weird or something. if the warranty was also unlimited miles, I'd sign on as a tester, not a ginea pig, and there is a small difference in the way post install expectations are set. I'm trying to break it. Bullet may be a great brand down there, but I dont know them at all up here in the FI arena tho they look great for Z4 and cooper s and hemi owners I just dont know Innovate in that space stateside at all reputation wise- and the silence has become deafening. I fear parts exchange, and the termination of R&D in aus, not sure how much FI talent is on board here. Im sure its great, but having no prior success to go on feels odd. werent dyno's promised by some vendor like yesterday or today for this kit? dealers failing to deliver, rumors, the lack of communication just seems to not instill confidence, as some one who is open to solutions for the other car.
