Interesting that they say they will start taking reservations on 10/02 (so yesterday) in the European market, but the A90 doesn't even show on the US site as "upcoming car"

All I get is the race car and the racing concept. I look around I get the FT1 under concept cars, but no Supra.

I don't see anything either. Just racing concepts. Nothing like what is on the UK site.

what i was getting at is that GR Supra concept = new Supra.

i was confused at what you were asking/saying. are you trying to say its odd that Toyota Europe is releasing more stuff on the new Supra? imo its because they are trying to hype up this car for the EU markets. sales of the mk4 were really bad for European market. on the other hand, Japan (largest) and the US (2nd largest) made up the bulk of mk4 sales, so i dont think Toyota Japan and USA are too worried about being awareness towards the new A90.

No I was saying (at least according to the video) Toyota Europe was going to start taking preorders on 10/2, and we still don't even have a picture of the car on the US site.

Maybe I misunderstood the video.

i see, well i still think its just a PR stun to build up hype over there. also maybe because the majority of the R&D took place in Europe?

New Toyota Supra priority orders open with membership to The Supra 900 Club

https://newsroom.toyota.eu/new-toyot...upra-900-club/

Quote:
Following the announcement of the new Toyota Supra at the Geneva Motor Show in March, Toyota can confirm that online reservations for the first 900 units open on 2 October 2018 in major European sports car markets at first stage. Consumers in other markets will be kept up-to-date through the sign-up function on the Toyota Supra website until pre-order opens in those markets.

Faithful to its distinguished heritage as a pure, sports car, the thoroughbred fifth generation Toyota Supra features a front-mounted, 3.0 litre straight six-cylinder petrol engine with rear-wheel drive and active differential. The new two-seater package promises exhilarating driving performance, ensured by its perfectly balanced 50:50 weight distribution.

Production of the new Toyota Supra is due to commence next year with the first 900 European customers due to receive their cars after the summer. This privileged group of owners will not only have Toyota’s pure sports car at their fingertips, they’ll also be joining the Supra 900 Club. As members, they will have access to exclusive content, rewards and experiences in the build-up to delivery.

Oh and as someone that loves my FR-S I probably shouldn't say this, but when did power become NOT part of the driving experience? Toyota needs to give up that ghost. I bought it on a $25,000 car, but not on a $60,000 car where all the competition talks about BOTH.

I found it hard to believe too but that has been around for a while..

Car itself could be lower than a production Twin (monster truck gap has been pointed out more than once of the FR-S). Also it could be the same height and have a lower CoG based on weight distribution.

Don't know who that guy in the vid was but I hope "Supra is a BMW with badge engineering" is completely off.
The supra is going to need all the Toyota sport car design ability to excel in the 60k price class with cars like the Cayman, Corvette, and A110...
