Yes unfortunately I did not have the stock unit to reinstall in the car since I've given it away to somebody, so I will be doing that at the end of next week.

Well I finally got my new 860 back from the dealer. They moved or switched some of my parts from my 86 that I traded in. I did find out some thing interesting. Originally they were going to take my TRD springs off of my 86 and install them on my new 860, then install the stock springs from the 860 on to the 86.
When I dropped my 860 off at the dealer for the work, the parts department told me that my TRD springs and sway bars were in. I said I did not order them, the parts maniger said that the sales department decided that it was cheaper for them to just install new parts on my 860 and leave the old parts on my old 86.
The interesting point is , I never had TRD sway bars on my 86. I only had the TRD springs, and my cat back exhaust they were going to switch over.
So I now have TRD sway bars ($1100) with installation normally, for free!
I even came back to see how they were doing, I went into the shop and there was my old 86 on one rack next to my 860 on another rack. They had already installed my cat back exhaust from the 86 to the 860, and my TRD air filter as well.then it hit me. The TRD springs and sway bars are red! The stock parts are black! What if they notice I did not have the TRD sway bars on my old 86.
Well, I guess they did not. So I really did get a great deal. I also had them install a new center console lid that I ordered from the parts department. I is better than the on I had in my 86. Instead of opening to the side, the lid on this one slides back plus it's higher up and when the arm rest is in the forward position, it allows you to use the rear cupholder in the consul for taller drinks. I had the arm rest recovered in alcantara with orange stitching. I am shooting photos tonight of the car and will post them on Monday. Oh and by the way, the sway bars are fantastic! I thought the car handled well with just the springs, but the bars make all the difference in the world and do not make the ride any stiffer.
Ron

Congratulations on your upgrade! I was in traffic behind an 86-860 the other day, much better looking in person than in photos (also characteristic of the angry fugu front bumper)

The techs would notice but just not care. Their work order would just say "install sway bars" and they would not have any clue about the rest of the story.
Interested in seeing what the arm rest looks like. I like the idea of keeping the cup holder.

Not sure about CA but here you do not pay sales tax on The trade in value. You only pay on difference between trade in and cost of new car.
