Anytime you increase power you are decreasing the safety margin of your engine. 320whp and below is all I would be willing to push my stock motor at with a good tune.

I'm actually looking at the Jackson supercharger kit but with slightly less power maybe 250whp? Granted I know when you increase power you lose reliability but that's just the name of the game.

With a good tune, the JRSC setup will be plenty reliable on stock engine.

I know this will definitely void my warranty and really don't want to be building another engine so Ill just make sure to get a good tune.

I'm more curious about the drivetrain. OE clutch will give up and that's not a problem. What about transmission and diff? How long will they sustain 300 whp from a supercharger?

Pretty sure it's hard to overdue it on the stock fuel system so I wouldn't worry too much if you have a good tuner.

There is no answer. Some have popped on stock power. There are others holding 500whp. Seems like its just luck of the draw.
I was on an innovate SC making 280-290 (estimate) for about a year. I upgraded to a JDL Turbo kit with a gtx2867r and now make 442whp/346wtq, all on the stock motor. I even accidentally overboosted on my first tune before i switched and got a dyno tune a few times and so far my motor has been holding strong, no knock, etc. It could blow tomorrow for all I know. Then again, a stock motor could blow tomorrow too. The only thing you should be concerned with is the risk vs. reward and if you are willing to accept the fact the motor may break, and if you are willing to spend the money to fix it or rather run it stock and have it covered by the dealer (which could vary as well). Transmission doesn't like 350whp+. |

Well gotta pay to play a clutch is no big deal I'd run with the stock one until it goes then go with a stronger one. The rear end I just hope that it doesn't go. The motor I can rebuild I've built a few already including the one in my SRT4. I've actually built it twice but the second time it broke was from an original part not one I replaced.
