Was it bouncing off the rev limiter at 7500+ or does it have a lower rev limiter in neutral? Some cars won't let you rev past 4k in neutral... just sayin'

I'm laughing my ass off at the poor dealer who posted this. Big mistake.

Well there is ONE good thing about this video. We now know that the flywheel is much lighter than usual. The rpm bounce at fuel cut is a LOT faster than on my STI or WRX. Aftermarket "street" flywheels might not be as big of an improvement as one might think.

This is EXACTLY what we've been saying all along. I even made the point about destroying an engine without moving the car one inch.

And most likely will be sold as a demo later on to some poor soul who assumed the car had been test driven, not abused.
Exactly^^^

So you bounce off the rev limiter repeatedly while parked (also most likely while the car is not up to operating temps)? If I was the salesperson, I would end the test drive right there.

I cannot speak for other people but I personally am less concerned with total miles and more concerned with how the car was treated. Like you have stated, and this dealer illustrated, you can abuse a vehicle while it is stationary.

As for this car later being sold as a demo (which is normal practice in the industry), this is why I think it is good to know the VIN and make a list.

Present.
This car and many many other frs' will see way worse. Sure, revving in neutral is not the best thing to do, but I bet that video will sell more cars than people who are butt hurt over it.
